Who We Are

The Homeownership Opportunity Alliance is a bipartisan, statewide Coalition of Coloradans working to open the doors to attainable homeownership.

Colorado families who aspire to own their own homes - or seek to downsize into a condo or townhouse in retirement - are finding that their dream is delayed or denied due to the lack of attainable housing. Condo and townhome construction has effectively ground to a halt due in part to concerns among builders about the growing number of lawsuits over construction issues.

The Homeownership Opportunity Alliance is a diverse group of community leaders working together on common-sense reforms that would increase the supply of for-sale, multi-family housing. The alliance would open new doors to homeownership by:

The Homeownership Opportunity Alliance will build on the existing laws and programs in our state that seek to encourage homeownership - which has widespread positive effects on individuals, families and communities in every corner of our state.

For homeownership to become reality for many Colorado families, there must be an attainable home to purchase. Filling that gap through common-sense reform is the alliance's core mission.
